Who We Are
Check out our volunteer video!
The Bike Dump is a volunteer-run community bicycle repair and education space. We offer:
- Tools, parts and repair stands to fix your bike
- Volunteers to teach and help you to fix your bike, or with a bike-building project
- Refurbished, recycled bicycles for sale on a sliding scale
We strive:
- To make cycling – and bicycle repair knowledge – accessible to everyone by working to reduce social, knowledge, and economic based barriers
- To organize ourselves transparently, democratically, and co-operatively
- To offer creative alternatives to auto dependency and its consequences (urban sprawl, lack of exercise, lack of community, crappy t.v. commercials, and so on)
We appreciate:
- Donations of old bikes, bike parts, tools, and cash
- New Volunteers
- Snacks
Rules
- Be kind to volunteers and patrons, or leave.
- Racism, sexism and homophobia will not be tolerated.
- No violence or threats.
- Bikes that are completely spray-painted over, have their serial numbers ground off, or altered, may have been stolen, and will not be allowed in the shop.
- Two volunteers are needed to open the shop and to do work in the shop. Volunteers must not open the shop alone or do work alone.
